Daily Devotion on Psalm 19
Text: Psalm 19
How do you know there is a God?
Have you had someone ask you that before? A lot of people are asking that question these days. So, how do we know?
David tells us a couple ways in Psalm 19. First he reminds us that the heavens declare the glory of God. Every beautiful and marvelous thing in creation testifies to the fact that there is a God. Someone had to make all of this. David praises God because he did!
Another way we know that there is a God is from his Word. The Bible reveals who the true God is and what he truly has done. And what a powerful and holy God he is! We imperfect humans fall so far short when we measure up to his holy standards!
So we pray with David, Forgive my hidden faults! God hears our prayers. Now, through his forgiveness, the words of our mouth and the meditations of our hearts are acceptable in his sight.
Praise be to our God, the God of the heavens and the earth, for creating this beautiful universe and for making me blameless in his sight!
Prayer: Lord God, Heavenly Father, I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made. I give you even greater praise for you have forgiven all my sins, washed me clean, and made me blameless in your sight. Lead me to live a life of thanks each and every day. Amen.
