60 Day Bible Challenge: Day 32

We have surpassed the halfway mark on the 60 Day Bible Challenge! How has your reading been coming along? I know of some that started off fast and strong, but have backed out of the challenge. (They still continue to read the Bible though.) Others never tried in the first place. There are still others I know of that are marching forward and are in fact on pace to read the Bible in 60 days!

In the end, it really doesn’t matter too much if you read the Bible in 60 days or not. It’s a nice accomplishment to add to the spiritual resume, but that’s not the point of the challenge.

My hope during this challenge was that people would become trained to read the Bible, and read it regularly. I also hoped that people would realize that they actually have more time available to read the Bible than they think each day. It’s a matter of priorities and planning!

Personally, I continue to stay on track for the goal of finishing the whole Bible in 60 days. I’ve now finished the Pentateuch–the first five books of the Bible. I should be able to pick up my pace again now that I am through those books which are often difficult to read! Interestingly, it took me 500 minutes to read those first five books of the Old Testament. That’s about 8 hours and 20 minutes. It’s also interesting to note that it took as much time to read just those five books as it did to read 75% of the New Testament! Wow!

Overall, I’ve spent over 1,500 minutes reading now, or about 25 hours. I think it has been a day’s worth of time well spent!

Keep up your reading, whether you are attempting the challenge or not. God will bless you and increase your faith through the reading of his Word!
