Video of the Week: Baptism

This Sunday Christ the King Church is focusing its worship on the baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist.  There in the Jordan River Jesus “fulfills all righteousness” as he does even what he commands of us (be baptized) and is also anointed by the Holy Spirit and his Father as the Christ who is God’s Son and our Savior.

As we review Christ’s baptism this Sunday, we will also have opportunity to study baptism itself and recall it’s purpose and meaning. Baptism is surely a powerful means by which God delivers his grace to us. For as Paul tells us in Titus 3, God saves us through the washing which works rebirth and the Holy Spirit who works renewal (the sermon Sunday is based on these words).

This video of the week is a very moving and meaningful commentary on holy baptism. It is a sermon which was delivered by Pastor Michael Shultz of Sola Fide Lutheran Church in Lawrenceville, GA at the WELS National Worship Conference. With choice words and a collection of profound thoughts, Pastor Schultz reminds us of the power of God’s word which works together with the water of baptism. Enjoy this powerful sermon and rejoice in God’s forgiveness given in this sacrament!
